A2 SNOW DAYS
Hi Everyone,
As you are all aware we have had two snows over the last few days and we should be re-opening on Monday. I hope you have all stayed safe and warm in this time.❄❄❄
You are required to complete work over this period to stay up to date. This is essential in Art as your exam is in 6 WEEKS TIME!!! š±Unfortunately I cannot move your deadline for your development piece so this needs to be complete for Wednesday's lesson and should equal to at least 15 hours worth of work.
Please remember it is your 5 hour homework this week to work on this and if you do not complete this, your work will not have the weight of a C or above.
If you have been absent for the majority of the lessons this week you will need to do 10hours (5 hours independent and 5 hours class time missed) on these pieces over the next 4 days.
If you have not got your development piece at home or have not started this due to being off college Mon/Tues. You will need to ensure your sketchbook is completely up to date including your primary photography page and spend 2-3 hours on some small practical pieces that you can do at home.
Anyone who has missed Fine Art lessons since half-term will need to come and find me Monday break, so we can schedule you into support ASAP.
If any of you need help with this at all, or are unsure please email me, I will be checking these all of today.š
Stay warm over the weekend and hopefully see you all Monday!

PIECE

following:
1.
What was your aim for your final
piece? Why did you choose this particular image/composition/media/idea for your
Final piece? Explain
each in detail relating this to your earlier work, mention previous
developments, experiments and idea generation.
2.
What is the narrative/meaning behind
your work? What message did you want to get across with your final piece? How
do you think people will view your work? What impact would you like it to
create? For example
do you want it to provoke some sort of emotions? Or will it make the viewer ask
questions? Is it meant to be obvious and have an impact or does it require the
viewer to really think about the piece and the meaning behind it? Relate back
to your exam question and what you initially set out to do.
3.
What has inspired you throughout this
project and how? Talk through key pieces including artists, developments,
experiments and mock. For example: colour scheme,
techniques, subject matter etc.
4.
What has inspired you throughout this
project? Talk through initial ideas, (mindmap, moodboard, timeline) to artist
research 1, 2 and 3. Ensure
you go into detail about how this inspired you and why and what impact it had
on your work.
5.
How have you adapted your work from
your artist’s inspiration to make it your own? Talk about media, composition,
scale, colour etc. Do
you feel you have started to develop your own style? Compared to unit 3 how
have you progressed?
6.
What has worked well within this
piece? Has your final piece gone to plan? Be specific, is it the use of media, scale, time you
spent on the work? Is there any elements you would like
to continue with in the future? If so explain what these are and how you could
experiment
7. What has not been so successful? Why was this? How could you improve
this? For example do
you need a better set of primary photographs to work from or is the media/scale
not suitable? Make sure you explain how you could change this in the future,
e.g. practising further with the media, adopting a cropped composition?
8.
How does your final piece explore
your exam question and does it demonstrate what you set out to accomplish? Explain
how it does/does not do this. If not, explain why and how you can improve this?
9.
What have you learnt during this
project and how have your skills progressed? How have you seen these impact on
your work? E.g. did
it change the direction in which your work went? Be specific how have you
developed? What has aided you in this?
10.
What will you take from this project in
order to help you create work in the future? For example, will you continue with this theme in A2?
Will you explore new media? If so, how and why?

A2 HOMEWORK
To be completed for your first lesson
week beginning 21st September
All summer work needs to be complete and presented: Including annotation and titles (I will be checking this at the end of this week).
Mind-map and Moodboard: (Remember these need to reflect a range of ideas at this point, do not be too specific). For a higher mark add key words to your moodboard and studies of secondary sources.
Timeline of Artists’ work: This should include name of the artist, name of the work and date of the work. If you are working at A3 this should be two pages, if you are working at A2 this is one page. You need to look at a range of artists covering a large time span. For a higher mark add key notes and annotation about the artists’ work, linking it to key events around that time.
First Artist Research Page complete: This should be 2 pages at A2 and 4 at A3, this includes, artist biography, 6 general pieces of work which should be annotated and an in-depth analysis of one image aprx. 500words (remember this needs to be typed and emailed to me). Please see the Artist Analysis for further information.
Failure to complete all this work will result in a phone call home and being scheduled into study periods.
Welcome to the blog A2 Fine Art students this is where I will keep resources for you to access in and outside of lessons. If you have any questions about work please feel free to comment on the blog or send me an email.
